Record Online Casino Jackpot Win for Unemployed Man.

When Marty Ogden of Brookesville, Florida lost his job at the end of September the future must have looked pretty dull, but as one door closed, another opened - in this case at Carnival Casino where he won a new Internet record progressive slots payout of US $1,966,000 this week.

Ogden, aged 45, was an unemployed janitor when he decided to take his chances on the Gold Rally progressive slot at Playtech-powered Carnival Casino. He had $100 and a $10 bonus, bet $16 and then stared in disbelief as his screen lit up with a win worth almost $2 million.

Lady Luck continued to smile on Marty when he hit another big win for $12,000 at the same casino.

New Online Poker Room with an Indian Twist.

TeenPatti.com, an online poker site oriented for an Indian audience, has signed a contract with LoboGaming Corporation for use of its software. The new site will be aimed specifically at attracting Indian gamblers and is the first site to licence LoboGaming’s software.

The agreement is worth over $1,000,000, with LoboGaming also gaining a share of TeenPatti.com’s profits. The site is unique in its Indian orientation and as such is likely to capture the huge market India promises. LoboGaming, part of the Taj Systems Inc parent company, has taken a keen interest in the emerging sub-continental economy.

“The key for Taj and LoboGaming is target marketing versus mass marketing,” said Jay Patel, Taj Systems’ CEO. “In what is one of the most lucrative and fastest growing industries in the world, positioning oneself as a market leader within a specific demographic is paramount. We believe this will be the most successful strategy to create maximum penetration towards capturing the largest share of the massive Indian gaming market.”

Football Club Abandons Plans For Super Casino.

Manchester United has scrapped plans to build a Las Vegas-style supercasino next to its Old Trafford ground.
Manchester United PLC joined forces with US-based gaming giant Las Vegas Sands Corp. in May to submit development plans for the casino complex that included a five-star hotel, restaurants, a health club and sports bar.
The club believes Blackpool is odds-on to win the one Government licence for a supercasino and has decided to end any further spending on the project.
United have stressed the decision had nothing to do with Malcolm Glazer's 790 million pound takeover, which was not completed until after the original casino plans were drawn up.
'Whilst we maintain strong relationships with both LVSC and Trafford Council, we have decided jointly with LVSC not to progress the proposal at this stage,' said United commercial director Andy Anson.
